If anybody asks how not to make a film, this can be shown as an example. It really makes one wonder how this script got approved to be made into a film. The idea is to convey that ignoring one’s partner in the pursuit of a profession is a mistake, and getting involved with another woman outside marriage is equally wrong. However, to communicate this message, a weak script has been written and because of the junk-filled, amateurish narration, the core message hardly reaches the audience. The entire movie moves in a pointless manner, with zero humour and dull dialogues. The basic character writing is also amateurish, and the whole film feels like a child’s play made without any seriousness towards the craft of writing.

On the whole, “Sing Geetham” should not be judged through the lens of a regular commercial entertainer because it is anything but one. It is an ambitious experiment from a filmmaker who, even at 94, remains eager to explore new storytelling forms. Singeetham Srinivasa Rao’s passion for innovation shines throughout the film. Its environmental message and unique narrative approach make it noteworthy. It may not appeal to everyone, but those interested in seeing a different cinematic experiment will find enough to admire. It is an out of the box experience.

The core idea of the film is actually quite interesting. The concept of a sincere constable shaking the foundations of a corrupt and powerful Chief Minister’s regime has strong dramatic potential. However, such a premise requires intelligent writing and convincing execution. Instead, the film relies heavily on formula-driven storytelling and mass-hero moments that do not align with either the character’s profession or Vadde Naveen’s screen persona.

Much of the film feels cliched. The narrative structure and scene construction appear dated, lacking the freshness. Harish Shankar seems conscious of not turning this into another “Theri,” yet the film doesn’t fully capitalize on even that borrowed template. As a result, the antagonist, played by Parthiban, comes across as weak and underdeveloped.

The biggest shortcomings of “Akhanda 2” are its ineffective screenplay and lack of strong villains. Boyapati replaces the typical factionist or mining baron antagonist with the Chinese army, but even this shift fails to evoke patriotism.

In conclusion, with its rich and stylish presentation, an average narrative stepped up to the next level. The film’s saving graces are its impressive cinematography, high production values, Thaman’s powerful background score, and a fairly engaging first half. It may be a treat for fans but just a passable watch for the rest.

Even Devi Sri Prasad’s music fails to elevate many dull stretches in the second half. While the love story remains engaging, the film’s attempt to depict the struggle to secure the release of the fishermen from Pakistan falls flat. The climax, where Pakistani officials reveal that one fisherman lacks an Aadhar card, inadvertently portrays Indian foreign service officials as incompetent, failing to complete basic paperwork. Instead of creating tension, this moment undermines the emotional impact. Overall, Thandel is a mixed bag. The love story and the first half work well, but the jingoistic elements and weak writing in the second half drag the film down. Despite these flaws, Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s sincere performance and hard work, along with Devi Sri Prasad’s songs, help mitigate some of the shortcomings.

This action thriller, however, manages to hook the audiences with its compelling beginning portions. To its credit, the film doesn’t bother with the story or the romantic angle of the main character. Drug dealers (Brahmaji and Satyam Rajesh) and their motivations are explored, as are those of police officers and the main don, who is also interestingly portrayed in the film. But it’s not captivatingly interesting to see how these various personalities interact and plot deceptions against one another. The film quickly loses its momentum. When it should have been in top gear, the film drags on and loses steam, lessening its impact. The better parts of this middling thriller are the cinematography and the decent grip in the middle. Overall, “Top Gear” is not an entertaining thriller. The narrative never goes on top gear but runs like an L-board drive in first gear.

Regarding, hero’s story, it is a three-way story. Hari loves Vasudha for a good life, and money but desires Vasudha’s brother’s girlfriend for her hot body. A “hero” lusting his wife’s brother’s girlfriend is quite bold. Vasudha’s sole aim in life is to have four children. In a way, all characters think about sex all the while, in one way or the other. Director MS Raju has written a story with the sole aim to get connected to the current generation of youngsters. He succeeds in filming bold lovemaking scenes between Shravan Reddy and Simrat Kaur. However, the characterization of the trio – Shravan Reddy, Simrat Kaur, and Ruhani Sharma, are unconvincing. All in all, MS Raju’s attempt at an erotic genre is filled with clichéd moments and bold sequences in equal portions. Climax portions and bold subject aside, slow pace, and repeated sex sequences make it very average fare.
