Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu is a complete Chiranjeevi film where the star carries the entire narrative on his shoulders. Director Anil Ravipudi delivers a typical commercial entertainer without a strong story or logic. While the first half is engaging, the second half feels dragged and forced.Read at source

Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu
Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu
National Security Guard officer Shankara Vara Prasad falls in love with and marries Sasirekha. However, their marriage is short-lived due to a severe ideological rift between Prasad and his father-in-law, GVR, a powerful and influential businessman. The conflict escalates to the point that Prasad and Sasirekha are forced to divorce. Separated from his wife and children for six years, Prasad longs for an opportunity to reunite with them. Years later, Prasad learns that his children are attending a boarding school. Seizing the chance to reconnect with them, he adopts a new identity and secures a position at the school as a Physical Training (PT) mentor. He is assisted by his team members Jwaala, Narayana, and Mustafa. Although he gradually bonds with his children, Sasirekha eventually discovers his true identity. Despite her initial shock, she chooses not to reveal the truth to their children while Prasad continues his efforts to redeem himself. Meanwhile, in Mumbai, an assassination attempt targeting GVR takes place. Recognizing the seriousness of the threat, the central government appoints Prasad—revealed to be a former National Security Guard advisor—as GVR's lead security officer. Prasad enters GVR's household with the dual aim of reuniting with Sasirekha and confronting GVR, whom he holds responsible for their divorce. Complications arise when Venky Gowda, an influential businessman from Karnataka, arrives with the intention of marrying Sasirekha.

But Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu doesn’t take long to grow complacent, and that trait always remains unwelcome in the comedy genre. The humour in the setup portion works just fine, though the expectation is that the story is only going to become more exciting and make the laughs feel as organic as possible. We do get a turn in the plot on cue, which involves Shankara’s two estranged young children. Ravipudi makes this the emotional hook and lends it a Main Hoon Na kind of design that requires the father (and his subordinates) to move briefly to a boarding school and win over the kids. In conception, this is exciting for several reasons: the story isn’t just relocated to a new terrain, but set up to grow complicated in intriguing, often comical ways.Read at source
First Half Report: Till now the movie is engaging. This is Megastar's most entertaining performance post comeback. Some scenes are over the top, but the proceedings hold our attention.Read at source

It is no exaggeration to say, Chiranjeevi, delivered his best performance in ‘Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu’, after making a comeback into films in 2017. It is his one-man show to say the list. His dialogue delivery, subtle expressions, comedy timing and ability to perform in a balanced way during emotional sequences without going overboard, are a treat to watch on screen. It looked like he really enjoyed playing the ‘Vara Prasad’ character and that joy, fully translated onto the screen.Read at source
