DC

It is Arun's most accessible, entertaining, and engaging film, and it gives Lokesh Kanagaraj the safest acting debut.

Arun Matheswaran's adaptation of Devdas is all about guns, roses and the desire to lead a normal life.

Arun Matheswaran's DC sits in this scale of grey and refuses to leave. It is a film about vigilantism, about a found family, about two people who have been failed by every institution that was supposed to protect them and have decided that the only protection left is violence.

In Arun Matheswaran's DC, violence is catharsis, not just an element of cool. Nothing captures this better than the electrifying stretch leading up to the interval, where Devadas (Lokesh Kanagaraj, a solid debut as a lead actor) unleashes a bloody rampage that serves both as an act of rescue and revenge.
