For all the forest's tricks, Veera's ordeal soon settles into a loop of its own: walk, stare, collapse, repeat. There's no mounting dread or thickening mystery beneath the wandering, and no magnetic star presence to carry the emptier passages.

However, the film seems caught between different genres. At various points, it appears unsure whether it wants to be a horror film, a thriller, a fantasy or an emotional drama.
