Mother Promise

It reminds us that no matter how loud life becomes, we eventually find ourselves returning to the promises we made to our mothers and the lessons our teachers left behind.

At such a time, Mother Promise, with its bizarre but chaotic madcap energy, feels refreshing. Set in fictional Bengaluru that has a Banashankari Beach and Nagarabhavi Port, the movie follows a bunch of eccentric, highly comical rowdies working for three gangs — one a hot-headed Donne Biriyani (Mahadev Prasad) and the other, a softie, Rossi (Daali Dhananjaya).

Whether it manages to replicate that journey remains to be seen, but it certainly has the ingredients to become a crowd favourite.

Mother Promise generated considerable curiosity well before its release. Featuring numerous characters on a single ensemble poster, it left audiences intrigued about how such a large cast would fit into one story.

The film keeps returning to one simple thought: irrespective of how rich, powerful or feared someone becomes, nothing can replace what a mother gives her child.
