One thing that really works in favour of the film is Mahesh Babu’s refreshingly different character. To see him shed his sophisticated image and play a character that has an impeccable sense of humour without any inhibitions and nail it is just what his fans needed. Parasuram doesn’t disappoint in the way he writes and presents Mahesh’s character. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said about Keerthy’s character that’s so poorly written, and is totally without any purpose. Here’s a film that’s headlined by one of the biggest stars of Telugu cinema and it has him mouth a line about stalking a woman as ‘a boy thing’. If you overlook the heroine’s character, we get a film that pretty much checks all the boxes of a commercial entertainer. Mahesh Babu shoulders the film single-handedly, and he does a very satisfying job of anchoring the film even during its dullest segments.

Mahesh Babu does all the heavy lifting in selling this clichéd story. After a long time, he has let loose and stepped into a comic role. However ridiculous the dialogues may be, Mahesh Babu has succeeded in selling it. And these are some of the best moments in the film. The same goes for Keerthy Suresh. With a poorly written character, she has done her best to make it look earnest.

The film is tedious primarily due to its uninteresting romantic plot. There was so much scope in the story and the director failed to use it to his advantage. The film mars the excitement with unnecessarily lengthy scenes presumed to be a comedy. Particularly, the long, drunken babbling about an imaginary character (Jessie) and the cringe-inducing comedy involving Subba Raju meanders, stumbles and fumbles the narration. Parasuram is known for infusing humour into a sensible story, but, here, he has churned out a film that fails to rise above the ordinary and each of its moves in the narrative seemed shaky. Each time you expect the story to take a new turn, it falls short of our expectations. Instead of rooting for Mahesh’s lone fight against the power system and his attempts to spread awareness among his colony people, one feels let down by its banality.

With customary fight scenes, song sequences and punchlines that add little to no value to our experience. Of course, if you are a hardcore fan of Mahesh Babu and him shouting,
