Param Sundari

Param Sundari Movie Story Review: Tushar Jalota, Gaurav Mishra and Aarsh Arora’s story is not novel. But Tushar Jalota’s screenplay is fresh. The story is presented in a new age manner with some interesting and funny situations thrown as the couple gradually falls in love. The twist at the interval, again, isn't something new in this genre of films. But it surprises you because the makers have refrained from showing any of this in the trailer. The dialogues are conversational with natural humour but some cheezy lines could have been avoided.

(With some butter). One of the Keralites is unnecessarily a nurse. A turbaned Sikh exists only for comic relief. A Gen Z girl keeps whipping out Korean hearts. The film seems to come out of a Pan-India rom-com manual (I am sure it exists). If Param Sundari was a feeling, it has been described by the film itself:

Param Sundari' had the potential to be a sparkling, one-of-its-kind rom-com - one that you could revisit for years. Instead, it settles for being a pretty postcard with good music and visuals. Sidharth and Janhvi may be styled to look like they are in love, but you never once believe they are. Guess all the close-ups of her eyes, and his bare-chest are not enough. Rom-coms are meant to be a guilty pleasure, the kind you sneak back to when you want comfort. 'Param Sundari', unfortunately, is the kind you forget about the moment the lights come back on. If a love story can’t sell love, what exactly is it selling?

Flaws? Certainly. The humour is hit-and-miss. Some cultural touches skim the surface rather than diving deep. And narratively, the film walks such a straight line that surprises are few and far between. Yet, in an era where “romance" often comes camouflaged with explosions, espionage, or superhero capes, the very simplicity of Param Sundari feels radical.
