Known for her quintessential girl-next-door portrayals, Rao is the recipient of several accolades including an IIFA Award and two Stardust Awards, along with nominations for two Filmfare Awards. Rao made her acting debut with Ab Ke Baras (2002), which earned her a nomination for Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
